Steep Deciduous Forest in Dajti National Park

Highlight • Forest

The climb to Qafa e Qershisë winds steeply through the deciduous forest of the Dajti massif, where the path crosses the contour lines almost perpendicularly. The route is short but intense: narrow forest sections, rocky steps, and a constant incline that only flattens out above the tree line. The pass marks the transition from dense forest to open high-altitude zones and is the moment when the mountain fully opens up towards the ridge and the higher routes.

Tujan Peak

The top of Maja e Tujanit is an open, rocky crown above the Dajti massif, where the path emerges from the forest zones and the mountain fully unfolds. From the highest point, you look over the ridge structure, the deep valleys, and the wide flanks towards Tirana. The terrain is rugged but easily walkable, with low vegetation and loose rocks that give the summit a distinct mountain character. A clear endpoint to the climb and a natural viewing platform in the middle of the national park.
You have the same view here as from the viewpoint on Qafa e Qershisë.

View of the Hotel Belvedere on Mount Dajti

The cylindrical tower hotel on the Dajti plateau forms the highest viewpoint above Tirana. The glassed-in top floor houses a panoramic restaurant and observation deck with views over the city, the valley, and on clear days, as far as the Adriatic Sea. Around the hotel are open grassy areas with grazing horses and hiking trails towards the national park. The building marks the end of the cable car and the beginning of the mountain routes.
