Christ Church Dresden-Klotzsche

Highlight • Religious Site

Christuskirche Dresden-Klotzsche.

Built from 1905 to 1907, as the second church in the locality, and since Klotzsche's incorporation into Dresden in 1950, one of Dresden's churches.

Dresden<->Volkersdorf

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Not a highlight in the true sense, but it's quite okay to ride here. The asphalt is good and you roll along fields in a beautiful landscape. Nevertheless, the road is moderately to heavily trafficked, especially during rush hour.

Update 2026: Due to the major construction site west of the road, increased traffic and/or construction sites on the route are to be expected here in some places. The construction site will be there for a few more years.

I can only recommend taking a short break at the village pond. When the weather is nice, the church and the houses are reflected in the pond.

Bärnsdorf Church

Highlight • Religious Site

Kitschy village scenery including a church. Always great when it is reflected in the pond in front of it.

Bärnsdorf–Berbisdorf cycle path

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The bike path runs parallel to the road. The beautiful smooth asphalt is great for narrow racing bike tires.

Berbisdorf Village Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The first church was built in Berbisdorf in 1842. Today the church fits into the building ensemble of moated castle and manor. The church building can hardly be seen from the current main street.

Schloss Berbisdorf

Highlight • Castle

"The focal point and center of Berbisdorf is the castle, the old moated castle of which can still be clearly seen and dates back to the time when the Sorbs settled. The building is surrounded on four sides by a moat fed by a stream and is thus located on a kind of island. It was acquired and expanded at the beginning of the 16th century by the ennobled Zeidler called Hofmann from Berbisdorf, Boden and Dittmannsdorf, and was rebuilt several times by subsequent owners, most recently towards the end of the 19th century.

The old moated castle is being considered as one of the eponymous ancestral seats of the Berbisdorf noble family. Due to the expropriation and division of the land of the manor in the course of the land reform after 1945 in the GDR, many years of decay followed for the castle. We are aware that it is not easy to restore this gem to its old, new beauty.

With the construction of our small castle café, which is open from May to September every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., we can see the first successes. We hope to have aroused your curiosity and are waiting for you in our Castle Café".

Nice alternative to the main road between Berbisdorf and Radeburg. On the small residential road, you can roll past many private homes and pass under the S177 without any intersections.

Exit with the neighbor, because after a few km a rattling noise was noticeable from my neighbor, the route was replanned without further ado and we went to Bike Point. Thanks to the evening traffic, I would have preferred the planned tour via Zschorna, but at least help could be provided quickly. @bikepointDresdenKlotzsche thanks for the quick help
