Royal Saxon Triangulation No. 10 Keulenberg Station
"The Royal Saxon Triangulation (here with its historical name) is a land survey carried out in the years 1862 to 1890 on the territory of the Kingdom of Saxony with the simultaneous creation of a trigonometric network.
The aim was to record the territory of the state in a scientifically and geodetically precise manner and to create the basis for the production of precise maps by establishing permanently marked fixed points." - de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6niglich-S%C3%A4chsische_Triangulirung
As a 1st order station, it was also part of the Central European degree measurement.

From Keulenberg, observations were made from N. Olgahöhe, Ossling, Lessingthurm, Butterberg, Valtenberg, Lausche, Schneeberg, Felixthurm, Borsberg, Kahleberg, Dresdner Schlossthurm, Bayerhöhe, Großdobritz, Buchberg, Collm, Strauch, Galgenberge.
There are signs on the observation tower showing where these peaks can be located.

Steep trail with a few decent drops. Inexperienced people should avoid the trail

The dangling bench not only invites you to let your legs dangle. The "soul" can also do it here when looking into the area. :-)

At the Green Pillar

Highlight • Mountain Hut

"Today's network of paths with parallel wings and right-angled aisles after Heinrich von Cotta and his son Friedrich Wilhelm von Cotta was laid out between 1826 and 1832 for primarily forestry use. The strictly straight wings A to M were spaced 200 Saxon field measuring rods ( around 859 m) and a width of 2 rods (8.6 m). [...]
In the end, the Green Column was erected at the former central point E13 in 1832. "- de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lau%C3%9Fnitzer_Heide#Wegenetz_und_Weges%C3%A4ulen
From the green pillar, atypical for the network of paths described, further radial wings start. Of these, the Green One (towards the south), the Old Three (towards the west) and the Old Seven (towards the east) are still available today.

Wolf Column, Laußnitzer Heath

Highlight • Monument

The wolf column (also wolf memorial) in the Laußnitzer Heide is a hunting memorial. It is reminiscent of the hunt on November 11, 1740, when Rudolph Siegemunden von Nostitz (1696–1754), son of Gotthard Rudolph von Nostitz (1674–1736), shot an 82 pound wolf.

For me as a landscape lover, three exciting pillars are linked here. In the northwest the Buchberg column (Royal Saxon Triangulation), the Wolf column and the Green column in the east.

The wolf monument in the Laußnitzer Heide was erected to commemorate the last wolf hunt in 1740, when the last wolf was shot. Since 2019 the Laußnitzer Heide has been the settlement area of a pack of wolves again.

Buchberg Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

There is room for a large group in the hut and there is even some firewood. It is to be hoped that the hut will be cherished and looked after for a long time to come.
