Pommern is one of the oldest wine villages on the Moselle. Historical finds prove settlement by the Celts more than 2,000 years ago.

The Romans cultivated viticulture and grew citrus fruits. The wine village takes its name from them:

"Pomaria - the fruit garden."

Viticulture still shapes the Moselle landscape today. Many craft businesses have also established themselves.
