Steep little gorge and much lesser know than Cheddar. Accessible only by foot great for a walk or run out of Wells City centre.

The path through the gorge starts off pretty tame but gets steeper, rockier, wetter, muddier and narrower as you go. It's great fun and packed with interest. If you have average fitness and decent footwear you'll be fine.

July 2, 2023,Gorge Path – Ebbor Gorge loop from Wookey Hole

The gorge needs special care as it is very steep with smooth limestone rocks. Climbing boots recommended. I think tackling the gorge by climbing up it is probably easier. We took the alternate root after feeling it was to risky on the day.
