A very beautiful circular walk, highly recommended. There was hardly any activity there, you could walk in peace, enjoy, take photos, sit, sing, chat to yourself... whatever comes to mind.

That was a beautiful hike around Hesse's tenth-largest lake, the Aartalsee. This lake is located in the Lahn-Dill district, and the Aar River, which is dammed here, flows into the Dill River.

The dam has been damming the Aar since 1991 and serves flood protection, low-water levels, energy generation, and local recreation.

Currently mostly accessible without rubber boots. The lake terraces are open until December 28th. Open continuously, then closed until February. Aartalgrill was on December 25th. too, as well as the public toilets.
