Worth a stop. Lovely Americano.

The view west from here looks over the Otter Valley and its glorious. On a clear day you can see Woodbury Common and Dartmoor, both also popular MTB spots in Devon. On cloudier days the mist can hang in the valley, so even though you might not get far reaching views, it still feels special.

There is a car park here too which makes it a great place to start or finish a ride.

White Cross Viewpoint

Highlight • Forest

At White Cross you’ll find a free, off-road car park with tree cover and remarkable views. Looking west, the entire Otter Valley seems to unfold for your pleasure alone. Patchwork fields in yellows and greens blanket the valley floor and you can see for miles.

Mist and low cloud sometimes hang in this valley, allowing you to experience a wonderful feeling of being much higher than you really are.

Take it steady coming from Ottery & be prepared to engage your lower gears & small chain ring as it will ramp up suddenly after the 20% sign. Good luck.
