The royal abbey of Grandchamp was founded in the 12th century by Premonstratensian monks. The abbey was burnt down in 1568 during the wars of religion and the canons almost all massacred. Of the presence of the monks, all that remains is the abbey house and a chapel integrated together in the Domaine de Grandchamp.
