Coney Castle

Highlight • Other

The imposing building is located on a huge fenced-in property right next to the canal. Is it really a "chateau"? I couldn't find anything about it.

Lake Côney

Highlight • Lake

Here the Côney is dammed next to the Canal des Vosges to form a larger lake. A lovely place to rest.

Fontenoy-le-Château Town Center

Highlight • Settlement

Fontenoy-le-Château actually has many interesting old buildings, which unfortunately are mostly in a state of disrepair.
The old church, however, is in a well-renovated condition.

The cycle path on the canal is just great. Little operation, well developed, super beautiful nature

Selles Swing Bridge

Highlight • Rest Area

This bridge rotates to allow free passage to boats navigating on the Eastern Canal.

It is dated from the 19th century and is still in operation. It is operated by hand and pivots on its axis thanks to wheels located under the apron.

It is used by vehicles and pedestrians. A few meters away is a stone bridge, in contrast to the metal swing bridge, which spans the river.

5th stage, 2nd part, on the way to Lyon. So far, no km regretted, great paths and landscape, many birds singing as an accompaniment. I'm looking forward to the next stage. So far I'm just thrilled!
