Passeier Cycle Path - spa town of Merano to St. Leonhard in Passeier
The 19 km long Passeier Valley cycle path leads from the spa town of Merano to St. Leonhard in Passeier
The Passeier Valley cycle path is mostly flat and along a slight incline through the wonderful landscapes of the Passeier Valley. The refreshing Passer accompanies the cyclist along the entire cycle path. The starting point is the spa town of Merano: from the thermal spa square, we head east through the Elisabeth Park into the Passeier Valley. Always continuing on the right bank of the river, we soon leave the city area. The path is still asphalted here, later it becomes a gravel path.
Above us on the right we see Schenna with the castle, the church and the mausoleum of Archduke Johann. On the left are the villages of Tirol, Kuens and Riffian. We have already covered half of the route past Saltaus. We cross the river several times as the cycle path changes sides of the bank. At Quellenhof we drive past the golf course and continue to St. Martin.
When we arrive in St. Leonhard in Passeier, we have reached the end of the cycle path. On the way there we pass the Sandwirt, the birthplace of the legendary freedom fighter Andreas Hofer. Here the MuseumPasseier awaits us with all its special features and valuable contemporary witnesses to the history of Tyrol. Worth seeing!

Quellenhof Covered Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Between Sorgente and Saltusio, this wooden bridge is a great way to cross the Passirio stream by bike or on foot. Easily, looking towards the river, you might notice people canoeing down it.

September 8, 2024,Von St. Martin nach Ungericht Hof Traktorenmuseum
Because of heavy rain, I ended the tour early just before the finish 🤷‍♂️ and didn't see a tractor 🚜. I took the bus back to St. Martin. I picked up the bikes later.
I forgot to close Komoot, hence the km and the route via Jaufenstrasse (not recommended due to traffic).
The path from the Passer to the Ungerichthof, …

It would be even nicer if there wasn't the steep climb to Schenna at the end 🥵, but along the main road it is not much flatter - and there is a lot of traffic 🤷🏼‍♀️

Between morning thunderstorms ⚡️ and rain 🌧️ relaxed tour to St. Leonhard in the afternoon

Showing Translation

It's a shame that you can't combine hiking and cycling on Komoot.

Today's three tours belong together.

1. Cycle there to St. Leonhard

2. Take the bus to Moos

3. Hike from Moos through the Passer Gorge to St. Leonhard

4. Return via Merano to Kuens.

Great tour, back from St. Leonhard to Meran only downhill

Showing Translation

Very easy downhill with the kids on 20inch bikes . We stopped for lunch and a break or two . Gravel sections are well packed so are no problem.
I did half the ride up the valley on sport then the second half on eco as the battery was getting low. The family had already done the downhill section and I was just getting the car from the top so no stops. I should have charged the battery fully.
