Generale D'Havet Tunnel

Highlight • Structure

This tunnel acts as a watershed between the Vallarsa and the rocky gullies on which the Papa Refuge stands. From Passo Pian delle Fugazze to the Galleria d'Havet is the longest and most demanding part of the climb. After crossing the tunnel in 2km you reach the Pope and the climb becomes easier. Breathtaking panorama both before and after crossing it.

The Road of the Heroes

Highlight • Trail

The road of the Heroes is a dirt driveway in the Vicentine Pre-Alps that connects the Pian delle Fugazze Pass to the Achille Papa Refuge. Super recommended for MTB and gravel bikepacking. The last 2km feature 12 plaques in memory of 12 soldiers who fell during the First World War and decorated with the gold medal for military valor.

General Achille Papa Refuge

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Rifugio Generale Achille Papa is a refuge on the upper edge of the Val Canale at 1928 meters. It was built after the First World War and uses buildings from a former Italian barrack camp. Since then it has been rebuilt several times, today the building is quite imposing and renovated according to sustainable criteria.

The view up here is pretty breathtaking! Both from the hut, as well as the hut itself. Even the journey through the tunnel that ends here is an experience. In the hut you can strengthen yourself and even stay overnight. There is also a bivouac. Info unfortunately only in Italian: caischio.it/rifugio-papa

Incredible mixed e-bike/trekking tour 🚵🚶‍♀️ on the fantastic Monte Pasubio. But let's go in order: departure by MTB from Pian delle Fugazze along the Strada degli Eroi, a dirt road with a well-maintained surface, surrounded by woods 🌲and mountains ⛰️ and, above all, closed to traffic. We reach the Galleria d'Havet and then the Achille Papa refuge. 🏠The view is …
