A beautiful walk up and around Mont Orfano. The route to the fortress is S1. It's better to continue on foot to the summit.

Mont'Orfano is easy to climb via the old military road. About halfway up there is a beautiful trail to Mergozzo and there you can take a coffee break at the lake. Back on the Sentiero Azzuro, but you have to expect a lot of hiking and it is not always rideable. But it is a beautiful path.
