It stands in a side valley of the Aosta Valley northeast of Aosta in the municipality of Bionaz and there dams the Buthier, a tributary of the Dora Baltea, with an arch dam to form a reservoir. Easy trip to Valpelline (Aosta Valley). Departure from Oyace on asphalt for about ten km with sometimes steep gradients. From the dam you begin the practically flat dirt road which in 4/5 km reaches the Prarayer Refuge, skirting the splendid lake of Place Moulin with its turquoise waters! Return along the same outward route
