Brühlbach Trail

Highlight • Trail

In 2020 the little stream was unfortunately dried up for a very, very long time.

View of Hohenurach Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

Here the hiking route moves through a really lovely meadow orchard landscape with small kitchen gardens sprinkled in.

This half-height trail is particularly beautiful in April/May when the fruit trees are in full bloom. If you follow the waterfall trail, you will automatically come to this trail in the rear Maisental.

A relaxed section with beautiful surroundings and a fantastic view of the Maisental valley. Far in the distance and above, the ruins of Hohenurach tower.

Güterstein waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

The Güterstein Waterfall cascades into the neighboring valley just about one kilometer north of the much more famous Urach Waterfall and is considerably less visited than the latter. The waterfall cascades approximately 20 meters into a depth in two cascades, with a pool in between. Due to the high humidity, the vegetation is similarly lush to that of its larger brother. In earlier times, limestone was mined here, which the water washed out on its short journey from the Alb plateau, and which precipitates again in the cascades.

Here begins one of the most rustic waterfall on this tour. A small pool invites you to linger.

April 30, 2023,Bad Urach - Gütersteiner Wasserfall
Since we are invited to a birthday party on the Alb this afternoon, we wanted to take the opportunity to go hiking in the area beforehand.
We started in Bad Urach and hiked along the Brühlbach and then through the Maisental. Now there was an ascent that brought us to the Gütersteiner waterfall and the chapel. The way back was …

Beautiful round except for the zigzag part. The path has become almost impassable due to the wetness and mountain bikers. The waterfall is an idyll

Passing the strawberry field in the Maisental valley, 1.7 km uphill to the waterfall. Despite the great weather, most of them were probably at the Urach waterfall. I find this one more beautiful (if there is water)

Nice round, mostly shady. With breaks at the barbecue area and the sun lounger.
Out and about with a girlfriend. That's why the …

Can you spend this sunny day indoors? No...

After the work was done, we made our way to the Gütersteiner waterfall.

First we hiked through the Maisental, past countless flowers stretching their blossoms towards the sun. I kept stopping to photograph these little wonders of nature.

Showing Translation

At spring-like temperatures we actually saw icicles at the waterfalls.😎
