Anklam Peat Bog Observation Tower

The circular path through the moor ends at a small parking lot with lookout tower and information boards. From here you have a breathtaking view over the regularly flooded polders with their diverse bird life. There are always beavers to be found along the peat bogs, and the chance of seeing a beaver is quite high here.

In the moor you cross over three bridges the three peat channels of the Anklam city break. From them you have a beautiful view of the open water surface with floating bulten that grown naturally from sour grasses. After the second bridge, an old wooden signposts the way, as soon as it goes through a sparse spruce stand (reforestation from the 1940s). At the third station there is next to the information board a lookout tower with a wide view over the reed peat. With the binoculars you can watch marsh harriers and white-tailed eagles.
