Highlight • Religious Site

Before the restoration, three chapel panels hung in the choir. The oldest chapel in the church can be seen on the south wall of the choir by the apse arch. The tablet contains the names of 11 priests who have served the priesthood in Sdr. Parish of Stenderup from 1414 to 1784. According to F. L. Hansen: History of the Parish of Stenderup, the panel was made around 1784 and hung.

Halifax Bomber W7886 Memorial

On Sunday evening, 17 January 1943, an English Halifax bomber W 7886.TL-C and its 7-man crew from the R.A.F.'s 35th Scout Squadron were on their way to Berlin. The aircraft was one of a group of 170 Lancaster bombers and 17 Halifaxes. Along the way, the machine had engine difficulties and had to turn around. On the return trip it was attacked by a German night fighter from Karup and crashed at Mørkholtgård in Sdr. Stenderup between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
