Meander Thermal Park Oravice

Highlight • Rest Area

This village, apart from the thermal waters, has not much to offer. Funded in 17th century, but due to harsh climate and poor soil, was abandoned several times until the arrival of tourism in 19th century. Until recent years, it was extremely popular with Polish tourists, being the first thermal pools abroad while there were no good pools in Poland. Still today, you will see more Polish than Slovak car plates, but Polish tend to choose Chochołów and other new baths now. If you're coming from Chochołów, it's good to take a longer break before the two long ascents.

Bôrik Pass (940 m)

Highlight • Mountain Pass

A pass separating the Eastern Tatras (Zapadné Tatry) - to the south, Skorušinské Vrchy, to the north. Enjoy your ride down to Zuberec and then… another ascent, the last big one today. Beautiful views ahead, especially after leaving Zuberec. By the way - if you have lots of time and are an architecture fan, consider visiting the open air Orava village skansen in Zuberec. It will cost you extra 8,5km plus the time for the visit (about 1,5h). If interested, google “Orava Village Museum Zuberec”.
