View of the Valley

Unfortunately, the tour had to be canceled due to a small accident.
Unfortunately, herds of cows graze on the mountains in early summer and are "guarded" by "wild" dogs. These have thundered us from a great distance and attacked us! So watch out !!

Cappelletta of Monte Acquarone

Highlight • Religious Site

typical pilgrimage church along the coastal road that continues to Rome. After the church, at the first bend of the descent towards Vasia, there is a beautiful view of the entire Prino valley, Vasia, the sea and the mountains of Passo Pianlatte.

For MTBs, 3 important trails start here:
1. the one towards Vasia, just below, clearly indicated on the road
2. the one that arrives from above the chapel, not very suitable for MTBs as it is broken up by motorbikes
3. the one that goes to Olivastri, which starts from the top in front of the chapel (you have to push a little to get to the entrance, but then you can see it clearly)

Monte dei Prati

Highlight • Summit

We walked the path (partly Via Marenca) that leads to Imperia, in order Monte dei Prati, Monte Acquarone, Monte Pian Cavallè, Monte del Camione, Monte Pozzu and Monte Bardellini, some uphill stretches with push bikes.
The track is angular with many loose stones and technical passages on rock, nothing impossible but physically demanding.

View of Monte dei Prati

Highlight • Viewpoint

We also encountered the sheepdogs at Monte dei Prati. They came barking at us. We spoke to them calmly. Afterwards they wanted to be petted. I'm quite afraid of dogs, but it was OK. It's best to follow the rules of conduct.
After this section, the path was quite overgrown with (thorny) bushes for a while. It is therefore advisable to wear long trousers in autumn. The path was generally clearly visible, but a bit adventurous. After about 20 minutes it was fine again...I think it's better in summer...

Church of San Martino di Vasia

Highlight • Religious Site

Adjacent to the cemetery of Vasia, it is the oldest church in the Prelà valley. The sources consulted do not report anything about the possible building existing before the transfer of the area, in 1119, to the Benedictine monks of Lérins, in Provence. The current building is largely due to them: the salient façade, the structure with three naves, the square apse and the external bell tower seem to date back to the late 12th century. In 1453 the church became part of the priory of San Michele di Ventimiglia. The monks ceded all the properties to the consuls of Vasia in 1563. In the 17th century the church was partly restructured in modern forms. The bell tower was lowered at an unspecified time.
