Kyffhausen Lower Castle

My absolute highlight. The Kyffhäuser Monument is impressive, but the Lower Castle is charming and not overcrowded, at least outside of the holidays. Very romantic.

Today I traveled with the D-Ticket to the Kyffhäuser Monument. First by train to Heldrungen and then by on-demand bus directly to the monument and back to Bad Frankenhausen to the Panorama Museum.

On the way home from Kassel, we made a detour to the Kyffhäuser Monument. A very impressive structure.

Often viewed from afar, but never been there...that should change today :-)

I'm still totally impressed by the Kyffhäuser monument... it was really worth it!

Arrived safely at the hotel, the food was okay, now it's time to chill a little.

Up to the Kyffhäuser in the most beautiful fog. Bine and Erich and yes,🐕 Theresa, arrived by car from Hesse, so that we could conquer the mountain. It doesn't really work that well with public transport.
The first laugh, at Berga Kelbra station. There is a crossing between the platforms, which is secured by an automatic gate. Since the automatic …

Today we took a long-awaited tour to the Kyffhäuser Monument with the lower castle and the tower. Very impressive ☺️. Great for children too. But it's best to come towards the end of opening hours, then you'll have the monument almost to yourself. We were the last ones to go back to the parking lot yesterday.

So …
