Since the year 2000, office buildings and apartments have been built around the harbor basin at the former Westphalia harbor in Frankfurt. The office tower building at the eastern end of the site, the Westhafen Tower, also called the "Ribbed" (cider glass) by the people of Frankfurt because of its outer skin made of triangular glass panes, is a 112.3-meter high building. It was designed by the architectural firm Schneider + Schumacher and completed in 2004.
