The abandoned levada trail overlooking the São Jorge Valley, with its overgrown walls and still water, seems like a relic from another time. Between ferns, mosses, and weathered stones, breathtaking views repeatedly open up, revealing the verdant valley, the terraced fields, and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.
