As #Els wrote earlier: the vast majority of the forest is still quite young. It is therefore noticeable that there are still many young trees and 'lots' of planting have been marked. Already a charming forest, but it promises that it will only become more beautiful and valuable in the coming decades.
Tip: With the Baliekouter in Wakken just a stone's throw away, you can make a beautiful loop between two beautiful pieces of nature.

On the border between Tielt and Dentergem lies a new tourist-recreational centre on and around the Poelberg. The Meikensbossen can be found at the foot of the hill and is approximately 63 hectares in size. You can walk pleasantly through a varied landscape. Old and young forest, avenues, hayfields and meadows. Here and there a pond. The view of the Poelbergmolen completes the picture. While you enjoy the landscape, songbirds treat you to a beautiful intermezzo.
