Hiking

My tip: sit on the bench, start a journey through time, watch the washerwomen at work and listen to their stories. If you want to stay more in the here and now, you can just refresh yourself.

Hiking

The Lindborn was located here in the Middle Ages. In the 16th century, the water from the Lindborn and other springs was used to operate a washing facility due to the lack of a washing machine - and this continued into the 20th century.

The stone cross commemorates the death of two maids who, in a fit of jealousy, slaughtered each other with sickles.

Seating on a bench and at the bottom of the pool - be careful, the floor can be slippery.

Hiking

For hundreds of years clear water has been flowing from a spring into the two ancient sandstone basins (15th century) of the Waschbach below the Amöneburg, a never-ending spring. Legend has it that it was here that St. Boniface baptized the first Christians in our region. Up until the 19th century, women from Amöneburg also cleaned their laundry here and used the adjacent pasture as a bleaching meadow.
