Cycling
The remains of the fortress below the pass and the Predel/Predil pass date back to the second half of the 19th century. It was in the same place that, as early as 1808, the Austrians began to build a log fortification on stone foundations. The work was interrupted due to the harsh winter, which, in May 1809, when the French army penetrated and was advancing in the Soča (Isonzo) river valley and the Kanalska dolina/Kanaltal valley, did not play in their favor.
