The people of Soltau refer to the bell tower as their "red, leaning tower". It was inaugurated in 1990. With its 16 bronze bells, 98 stored melodies can be played. The carillon sounds every full hour between 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and at 9:00 p.m.
