Popular starting point for hikes in the Hardangervidda. Approach via narrow and sometimes steep mountain road. But is feasible for every car. Not for RV or the like.

Be carefully, the road up here is really narrow and shouldn't be done with large vehicles (6 meters +). Parking area at the end is very limited (even if the Norwegian people are true parking specialists) and it can be hard to turn around, even with a normal car.

Hiking

After an adventurous drive on the unpaved mountain road with a few tight hairpin bends, you reach the second, larger parking lot, from where you can start your day or multi-day tours. A detailed hiking map on site also provides information about possible routes. A hiking map or a GPS device is recommended in any case!
