The monument was apparently erected around 1850. It stands in the context of the broader revolution in Mecklenburg, which temporarily brought democratic reforms. „IN THE YEAR 1848, road workers set this stone during the construction of the road in memory of the common revolutionary struggles of the Mecklenburg day laborers and workers in the bourgeois revolution of 1848/49.
On July 31, 1848, a skirmish took place near Kraase between day laborers from Möllenhagen and Junker military. The military shot the day laborer FISCHER from Möllenhagen and wounded 17 other rural workers.“
