I Lavatoi – an ode to the village life of the past
These painted garage doors, I Lavatoi (The Wash Places), are a creation by the Italian artist Br1Pilo.
The artwork pays tribute to the former public wash places of Bisenti. Two women in traditional costume wash clothes together, a recognizable scene from a time when the wash place was not only a practical place but also the social heart of the village. Here, stories were shared, friendships were made, and daily life was discussed.
