Originally built as part of a residential canal community, the Airdrie Canals form a network of narrow waterways that wind between parks, pathways, and homes throughout the neighbourhood. Small pedestrian bridges cross the water at several points, creating some of the most distinctive views along the loop. Ducks, geese, and other waterbirds are common visitors, while the calm water often reflects the surrounding homes and prairie skies. The canals are particularly attractive at sunrise and sunset, when the light catches the water and bridge crossings throughout the community.
