The neo-Gothic church of Augan is characterized by its bays and ogival vaults. Placed under the patronage of Saint Joseph, but under the invocation of Saint Mark, it was built from 1865 to 1868 according to the plans of the architect Théodore Maignan from Saint-Brieuc. Contrary to usual arrangements, the building is not oriented to the east (towards Jerusalem), but to the west, with the main portal facing the town center.
After the Second World War, significant damage was noted, very likely due to the explosion of large-caliber bombs on the Coëtquidan military camp. Consolidation work was then undertaken.
