From the historic Killala Quay, you have a sweeping view over Killala Bay and the mouth of the River Moy. This was the place where, in August 1798, three French ships under General Humbert landed to support the Irish rebels. Today, it is a serene spot where at low tide you can admire the vast sandbanks of Ross Beach and the birdlife in the estuary.
