This short trail takes you through a geologic record of Manitoba. The "caves" are actual crevices formed by the splitting cliffs along the shore of Clearwater Lake. The dolomite that the crevices are formed from was deposited over 400 million years ago when the area was under a shallow sea. This layered rock is a time capsule that holds clues to what life was like when the first plants started to appear on land.
