The Heidnischbiel has been repeatedly settled since the Iron Age, as numerous archaeological finds impressively demonstrate. In the 1960s, various graves were discovered there, among other things, as well as the oldest known plough marks in Switzerland.
The flora and fauna of the rock are also something very special. Rare species can be found here, including emerald lizards and orchids, as well as plants such as feather grass and houseleek.
The view from Heidnischbiel over the valley is fantastic.
