Padule di Fucecchio is the largest Italian inland marsh, a wetland area of about 2,000 hectares located mainly in Valdinievole, between the provinces of Pistoia and Florence.

The area has immense ecological value, partly protected by a 230-hectare Nature Reserve.

Fauna: It hosts over 240 species of birds throughout the year. It is a crucial stopover point for migratory routes, where herons nest in the reeds (such as the purple heron and the night heron) and large colonies of cormorants.
