What is worth knowing and what to pay attention to?
Lard foundations – the building stands on very marshy ground near the Tyski Stream. To strengthen the ground, workers drove oak piles into the earth and interleaved them... with thick layers of lard!
Facade details – above the main entrance, the original date "1910" and the initials of the first owners: Jan and Wiktoria Drob are still visible.
Metal anchors – looking at the walls, you can see decorative metal anchors that tie the structure together with the name of the contractor: Andre & Felldner.

The steam mill in Tychy was opened in 1910 on Starokościelna Street. It was owned by Jan and Wiktoria Drob.
Construction of the three-story mill building was completed in 1910. An inscription with the date and the owners' initials is located above the main entrance to the building.
In the 1920s, electricity was brought to the mill and it was named the "Tychów Electric Mill." In the early 1990s, as part of the privatization process, the mill was transferred to the heirs of the former owners and renovated around 1996, where it continued to operate.
