The Kapija massacre, also known as the Crime against the Youth of Tuzla, is one of the most serious crimes ever committed against Tuzla citizens. The massacre took place on May 25, 1995. At 8:55 PM that day, Serb forces fired a grenade from Ozren at a youth gathering place known as Kapija. The grenade killed 71 Tuzla residents and wounded 150. The average age of the victims was 24.
