The Defense Line of Amsterdam was a defense line, located 15 to 20 kilometers around the center of the Dutch city of Amsterdam. The Defense Line is 135 kilometers long, contains 45 forts and was constructed from 1880 to 1920.
From 2020 we skate with a fanatical group of skaters along these fortresses (scaffolding). In May 2021 this tour (170 kilometers) is on the program again

Fort Waver-Amstel is one of the most authentic forts in the Defence Line of Amsterdam. Not only is it beautiful inside, but the view from the fort of the firing range is also exceptional. That's precisely why this fort is worth a visit! Many elements from the past have been preserved. Inside, you'll see old washrooms, electrical cabinets, and a former kitchen. The water reservoir, water pump, and sanitary facilities are also exactly as they were. Outside, you have a panoramic view of the open landscape with the firing ranges and wooden houses, and you can see for miles ahead.
