Canyon City Campground sits near the rushing Taiya River, and not far from a bridged crossing that'll take you across the river to the historic townsite the campground is named for.
Like all of the remote campgrounds along the Chilkoot Trail it's considered rustic by most standards, but there's an interesting historical cabin and a warming shelter, along with composting outhouses and lockers for securing your food from bears. You do need a permit if you plan to camp overnight; see nps.gov/klgo/planyourvisit/chilkoot-campgrounds.htm for details.
