The Zion Canyon Trail is one of the most relaxed and scenic ways to ride near the park, offering a smooth paved path that winds through cottonwoods and red-rock walls without the stress of traffic. It’s flat, family-friendly, and perfect for spinning out your legs before or after a big climb. Expect crowds near Springdale during peak hours, but once you’re on the path, it’s a calm and beautiful ride with plenty of spots to pull over and take in the views.

The Temple of Sinawava – Zion National Park loop from Zion Human History Museum offers an incredible touring cycling experience through the heart of Zion Canyon. You'll pedal along the paved Pa'rus Trail and the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, gazing up at towering red rock cliffs and the Virgin River. The route culminates at the Temple of Sinawava, a dramatic natural amphitheater with sheer rusty red and chocolate brown cliffs, often featuring waterfalls and hanging gardens. It's a truly open-air perspective on Zion's grandeur.

This difficult 26.6-mile (42.8 km) cycling route involves 1806 feet (550 metres) of elevation gain and takes about 2 hours and 49 minutes. Start your ride near the Zion Human History Museum. From March to November, private vehicles are restricted on the Scenic Drive, so you'll share the road primarily with shuttle buses, allowing for an intimate, car-free experience. Cycling in the early morning or evening is recommended to avoid heat and traffic.

This Zion National Park bicycle route provides a unique freedom to explore, letting you stop anywhere to soak in the views, unlike being confined to shuttle stops. It's a fantastic way to access the trailhead for the popular Riverside Walk and the iconic Narrows hike. The mostly downhill return journey is a welcome relief after the gradual incline towards the Temple of Sinawava, making it a rewarding challenge for cyclists.
