    The Richardson Nature Center, located in Hyland Lake Park Reserve at 10145 E Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington, is a family-friendly destination managed by the Three Rivers Park District. Inside, visitors can explore interactive exhibits and view live animal displays featuring raptors, reptiles, and amphibians, with kid-friendly amenities like a puppet theater and child-sized tables. Outside, there is a nature exploration area and extensive trails ideal for hiking, running, snowshoeing, and skiing, with snowshoe rentals available. Year-round programs and family events are offered, while the surrounding 1,053-acre park features scenic glacial hills, native prairie, wetlands, and Hyland Lake.

    The Richardson Nature Center – Wood Duck Pond loop from Bush Lake Rd E offers a delightful journey through varied landscapes, perfect for a relaxed outing. You'll wander through peaceful woodlands, cross open prairies, and stroll along boardwalks, with picturesque reflections on Wood Duck Pond and opportunities to spot wetland wildlife at Turtle Basking Pond and Goose Nest Pond. The trail's mostly flat terrain, with some sections featuring soft wood chip coverings, makes for a comfortable and engaging experience.
