The turnoff to the cable car at Achadas da Cruz is well signposted and leads from the coastal road down to the valley station of the spectacular cable car. Shortly before boarding, the road drops sharply towards the cliffs, marking the transition from the panoramic road to the final bend down to the cable car – a visible moment where the familiar gradient of driving gives way to the dizzying drop of the gondola.
