The drinking fountain is located directly on the Plötze in Limburg. The monumental fountain depicts the robber baron Friedrich von Hattstein. Friedrich was known for his extroverted and decadent life. In 1353, however, the Limburgers persuaded him to become a decent man.
He even agreed to become the governor of Limburg from 1357 to 1363.
The drinking fountain is reminiscent of him and is at the same time a funny and interesting destination.
