Hiking
Officially, the 1.8km long tunnel was closed due to construction and levada cleaning. However, we were lucky and allowed to go through. So, check before visiting.
Otherwise, a great adventure.

Hiking
Waterproof shoes are recommended. Sometimes large puddles of water form on the ground. As in any long tunnel, it's cold. A rain jacket should be packed, as should a headlamp or flashlight.
