Through the Ritzerbogen (Ritzer Arch) you reach Universitätsplatz (University Square) from the Alter Markt (Old Market) or Churfürstenstraße – a prestigious town square that has been used as Salzburg's green market on Saturdays since the mid-19th century. Numerous prestigious buildings frame the square: for example, the Baroque Collegiate Church, the long, stretched building of the old university (now the Theological Faculty), or the numerous town houses – designed as so-called "through houses" – from where you can access Getreidegasse through numerous passages.
