At the entrance to the market town of Wallsee, at the upper end of the beautiful park, a black marble obelisk sits majestically on three steps, adorned with the golden imperial crown and a round stone portrait of the venerable head of the jubilant Emperor of Austria, His Majesty Franz Josef I.
Beneath the portrait, the years 1830 – 1910 are nobly inscribed.
Proudly and preserved for all time, the obelisk proclaims the blessed 80 years of the Emperor of Austria's life.
