The tower is a national monument and is not open to the public. It is currently located in the heart of the De Manteling van Walcheren nature reserve. There is no accessible road to it for third parties. During World War II, the tower was significantly damaged. The filled-in holes are still clearly visible. The color of the upper section comes from the oxidized copper roof cladding. The tower is privately owned and has been completely renovated. The copper roof cladding has been replaced, and several windows have been added. The water tower currently serves as an apartment.
