The railway station in Kamień Śląski, now known as Otmice, has a rich history. It was originally named Groß Stein from 1878. After World War II, in 1945, the station was temporarily called Kamień Wielki (or Kamień Wielki Śląski), finally adopting the name Kamień Śląski in 1947. Interesting fact - the station building was blown up during the Silesian Uprisings on the night of May 2-3, 1921, in the so-called "Operation Bridges," in order to prevent German troops from transferring to the insurgent areas. It was rebuilt in the late 1920s. It probably underwent another reconstruction in the 1950s.
