Trefoil Park

The Fargo River Trail offers an easy hike along the scenic Red River, perfect for a relaxed outing. You will cover 1.5 miles (2.4 km) with a gentle elevation gain of just 30 feet (9 metres), taking about 37 minutes to complete. As you walk, you can enjoy views of tree-lined banks and meander through various parks, including areas near Trefoil Park, which showcase forested sections and open green spaces.

This route is highly accessible, featuring mostly paved paths that are suitable for a wide range of users, including families with children. Parking is generally available at the different parks the trail connects, such as Lindenwood Park. If you have a leashed canine companion, feel free to bring them along, as this is one of the dog-friendly trails in the area.

What makes this trail particularly interesting is the chance to walk across state lines on one of the pedestrian bridges, connecting North Dakota and Minnesota. This unique feature provides different viewpoints and allows you to experience the natural beauty of the Red River from both sides.
