The exterior of the Franciscan monastery and church has remained unchanged since its construction between 1508 and 1515. The master builder was Christof Reichartinger, head of the Schwaz building workshop. The exterior is structured simply and austerely, in accordance with the rules of the mendicant order. The three-aisled interior has also retained its Gothic character thanks to the sparing Baroque renovation. Among the furnishings, a late Gothic group of the Virgin Mary, the late Renaissance choir stalls, and above all the large crucifix (1521) carved in Solnhofen stone by Loy Hering of Augsburg are noteworthy.
