The observation tower was built between 1902 and 1903, designed by master builder Ernst Latzel, for the Moravian-Silesian Sudeten Mountains Association (MSSGV) with financial support from the Prince of Liechtenstein. It was opened on June 11, 1903. The original building was 35 meters high, as it had a top that was removed during postwar repairs. (Source: Wikipedia)
